Dr. Sarah Cassidy

BS, PhD Psych Sc

Sarah Cassidy, Ph.D., has been working as a psychologist in private practice in Ireland for the last 20 years, specialising in the assessment and treatment of learning, emotional/behavioural and neurodevelopmental difficulties in children and adolescents. She is the Founder/Director at Smithsfield Clinic, Athboy, Co. Meath https://www.smithsfieldclinic.ie/ and the co-director of New England Center for OCD and Anxiety, Irish Midlands Branch http://www.newenglandocd.ie/. She trains psychologists, educators, psychotherapists, mental health professionals and allied professionals in both professional and post-graduate settings throughout Ireland and abroad. She is a chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland and has recently been voted on to the PSI council. She is a popular invited guest at both parents’ and teachers’ events, as well as at scientific conferences due to her ability to break down complex scientific principles into digestible bite-sized pieces.

  • Who is this course suitable for?

    This event is for parents or professionals who have young people experiencing anxiety and who either feel unable to attend school or are not able to fully engage when they do attend.

  • What does this course aim to teach?

    This event provides evidence-based tools to help young people cope when they are experiencing distress, whilst reducing school refusal. We are trying to help all parties work together to create conditions where the young person feels supported and equipped with the tools to attend school, not only in the short-term, but into the future as well.

  • What happens if I cannot attend live?

    Don't worry! We will record the session and it will be available for you to view within 72 hours after the live event has ended.

  • How long will I have access to the recording of the live event?

    You have 12 months access to the recording.

  • Will I receive a certificate of attendance?

    Yes, all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance, once 100% of the course has been completed.

  • I completed a course and have not received my completion certificate yet. Why not?

    Completion Certificates are available in your account immediately once you complete 100% of the course. You may have to download a document or answer a survey question. If you are not sure what you missed, send us an email at [email protected] and we will check for you on our end.
