What is Social Communication?
Social communication is the ability to use language for different reasons e.g., to greet someone or to request something. This resource will focus on developing early social communications e.g. bringing an item to an adult to show them, pointing to request, shaking head to refuse or protest etc.
As a parent or guardian to a young child this resource will give you the tools to...
learn the fundamentals of early social communication
encourage your child's play through engaging routines
motivate your child to communicate
make interactions with your child last longer
feel more confident in supporting your child's development

Downloadable resources
New downloadable resources released each month to help you engage and interact with your child and teach them meaningful skills.
Live Q & A
Member only Q&A each month to answer any questions about your child's play and social communication development.
Join us online, once per week, with your child, to participate in a fun filled group with other parents and their children. The group is led by one of our Board Certified Behaviour Analysts, who specialises in Early Intervention. Each week we will focus on finding your childs' smile, encouraging play and social communication through fun, predictable routines, games and songs.
Online 1:1 sessions gives parents an opportunity to get individual support and guidance on any areas of concern. This can include observation of you supporting your child and offering feedback or it can be training with the parents alone. How the sessions will be carried out will depend on the preference of the families and the guidance of the BCBA, Joeleen. Each session is 1 hour long.
This is for children over the age of 18 months and under 6 years of age. There are some instances where this content will still be relevant for older children, so if you are unsure please contact us and we will be happy to advise.
Is this suitable for my child?
If your child is having difficulty with play and social communication skills then this resource will certainly be helpful.
What is new/different month?
We will be adding new content each month. This will include additional videos, downloadable resources and tip sheets. The live Q & A will be held each month. If you sign up for the standard or premium subscription you will have access to live groups each week. Premium members will have access to 1:1 consultations during the month.
How should I use the videos?
We know as busy parents or guardians, it is difficult to have the correct guidance available when you need it. The video vault contains a number of different videos that you can easily click into when you get a few minutes with your little one, but you want support on how to make the most of every minute. You can watch them in your own time alone, or have them playing as you play with your child.
How do I access the Developmental learning Group?
All live sessions are conducted on Zoom. If you're familiar with Zoom, you should be fine. But it is important the you realise you'll need to access the link each week through this learning page. That is also where all of your handouts and downloadable resources will be accessed. There is a short tutorial at the beginning of the course, but don't ever hesitate to get in touch if you need a little technical assistance.
Will the Developmental Learning Groups be recorded?
Unfortunately, to ensure privacy, we will not be recording the groups so members must attend live.
How long do I have to sign up for?
The subscription runs on a month-by-month basis. You can cancel your subscription at any time.

“It’s not only children who grow. Parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can’t tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it, myself.”
